FREDDIE LJUNGBERG LEAVES ARSENAL

Freddie Ljungberg announced just today he was leaving his position as first team assistant coach of Arsenal to further pursue his managerial career. In an official twitter post, the former Gunners midfielder turned coach said “I have decided to leave my first team assistant coaching role at @Arsenal to progress my management experience. I have been involved with this club on and off since 1998 and am grateful for all the opportunities they have given me both as a player and as a coach”.

He further went on to wish current manager Mikel Arterta and all the team success for the season ahead. He also thanked the fans for their constant support and for always being by his side. Ljungberg took over from former boss Emery Unai after the latter was sacked following an abysmal performance by his Arsenal side halfway during the season.
