Osagyefo’s Road Construction Equipment Set to Upgrade Roads in Dormaa Traditional Area – Gyaasehene
Nana Asare Baafour, the Akwansra Gyaasehene of the Dormaa Traditional Council and overseer of the road construction machinery secured by the Dormaahene, Osagyefo Oseadeayo Dr. Agyemang Badu II, has revealed that the equipment is intended to enhance road conditions across the Dormaa Traditional Area.
He explained that the Dormaahene is determined to end the hardship of residents traveling on poor roads. This motivated the acquisition of the machinery to support the building of new access roads and the rehabilitation of existing ones, thereby easing travel for both people and vehicles.
Appearing on the GIFTs Morning Show, Nana Asare Baafour noted that the Dormaahene intends to obtain another set of road construction equipment. This will ensure the machines can be deployed for projects within his traditional area and, when required, across the wider Bono Region.
Plans are also advancing to form and register a construction company that can later compete for official road contracts nationwide.
Nana Asare Baafour further disclosed that Osagyefo Oseadeayo Dr. Agyemang Badu II regularly tours Dormaa Ahenkro to inspect road conditions and pinpoint those needing immediate repairs.
Although the Dormaahene is funding the works, Nana Asare Baafour stressed that contributions from local residents and road users would greatly strengthen the effort.
He mentioned that the Badukrom–Gonokrom road has already been inspected, with preparations underway to begin construction aided by support from the community and travelers.
He added that several other roads have undergone assessment, and further patching is planned for the Dormaa Ahenkro–Kyeremasu road.
