The winner of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League will receive GH¢3 million in prize money after the Ghana Football Association (GFA) increased the financial reward for the country’s top-flight champions.
The new prize represents a GH¢1 million increase over the GH¢2 million awarded to the champions for the previous season, adding more financial incentive to what is expected to be another fiercely contested Premier League campaign.
The announcement forms part of a broader financial support package the GFA says is aimed at strengthening clubs and improving the competitiveness of domestic football.
Each Premier League club to receive GH¢1 million
Beyond the title prize, the GFA has announced financial support for all 18 clubs participating in the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League.
Each club is expected to receive GH¢1 million, giving teams additional financial backing as they prepare for the new campaign.

Runners-up and third-placed team also rewarded
The GFA has also outlined increased rewards for teams that finish near the top of the league.
The runners-up will receive GH¢1 million, while the team finishing third will take home GH¢800,000.
This means the financial rewards are not limited to the eventual champions, with clubs also having an incentive to compete for higher positions on the league table.
