Eight suspects apprehended in connection with the murder of Abamba queen mother – IGP

Christian Tetteh Yohuno, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), has disclosed that eight suspects apprehended as a result of the murder of Abamba queen mother.
Speaking during a press briefing at Atebubu in the Bono–East Region on May, 22, 2026, the IGP said the investigation into the murder of Nana Serwaa Gyan Kuma, who was shot dead at her residence on Feb, 25, 2026 uncovered a criminal conspiracy involving multiple suspects.
According to the IGP the breakthrough came after police at Kasoa arrested some suspects over preparation to commit robbery. During interrogation, one of the suspects Abdul — Razak Ibrahim Langa alias Zack, reveled that they are linked in the murder of the queen mother alleging the ghost of the deceased has been haunting him to disclose details of the crime.
Nana yaw Bediako’s name was mentioned as the alleged gunman who shot and killed the queen mother and Nana Yaw confessed that Nana Owusu Sarkofi( 11) the chief of Akokoa who contracted to carry out the killing. He said the alleged chief contracted them to assassinate the queen mother of Abamba in Atebubu for GH¢50,000.
The IGP send a word of caution to highway robbers that the police is working tireless to track and arrest them in their operations.
