Apam Mohammed, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) communications team in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency, has proposed that individuals who inflict financial harm on the state should not only face imprisonment but also be required to repay the misappropriated funds.
In an interview with AkuapemHann, Apam explained that after serving their prison sentences, such persons often keep properties and assets acquired with public money, while the country suffers substantial financial losses.
He has therefore urged the Constitutional Review Committee to push for legal amendments that would enable the recovery of these funds, ultimately serving the best interests of the nation.
