St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church marks 10th anniversary with dedication of new facilities
St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church marked its 10th anniversary with a Eucharistic celebration at which Bishop Dominic Yeboah Nyarko of the Techiman Catholic Diocese blessed and dedicated a new Grotto of the Blessed Virgin Mary, parish office block and parish hall.
Priests, religious sisters, traditional authorities, parishioners and guests gathered to give thanks for a decade of evangelization, spiritual growth and community development.
Speaking for the laity, church President Daniel Yeboah Asumah called the anniversary a testament to God’s faithfulness and the commitment of parishioners who have supported the church since its founding.
Nana Ati Adjei, chief of Mateso, congratulated the parish on the milestone and praised the Catholic Church for promoting discipline, education, peace and development in Krobo and surrounding communities. He urged parishioners to remain steadfast in their Christian vocation and serve God sincerely rather than seek public recognition.
Parish priest the Rev. George Owusu Adjei recalled that the parish began modestly and has grown through God’s providence and the efforts of the faithful. Looking ahead, he said the parish aims to strengthen its social mission by investing in the welfare and education of its members.
