High Court issues 10-day ban on Kantanka funeral and burial plans

An Accra High Court has issued a 10-day interim injunction stopping former Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo from going ahead with the funeral and burial arrangements for the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.
Nana Kofi Safo Kantanka, lawyer for the Kristo Asafo Mission, said the order was granted after the Mission applied to the court in connection with the late industrialist’s estate.
He noted that the injunction temporarily bars Adwoa Safo from organising the funeral pending further consideration of the matter by the court.
The conflict stems from disagreements within the Safo family over who holds the legal right to handle the funeral arrangements and carry out Apostle Kwadwo Safo’s final wishes.
The funeral, originally set for July 30 and 31, 2026, has been suspended as a result of the court’s directive.Speaking on Eyewitness News on Tuesday, July 28, Adwoa Safo maintained that the funeral would still take place as scheduled and called on her brother, Kwadwo Safo Akofena, not to interfere with the planned ceremony.
