Dormaahene Gifts 120 KVA Generator to Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital on 27th Enstoolment Anniversary
Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr. Agyeman Badu II, the Paramount Chief of the Dormaa Traditional Council and President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, has presented a brand-new 120 KVA silent diesel generator to the Dormaa Ahenkro Presbyterian Hospital. The donation forms part of activities commemorating his 27 years on the Dormaa throne.
The ceremony took place at the hospital’s administration forecourt, where the gift was handed over on the Dormaahene’s behalf by Baffour Oppong Asare, the Akyeamehene (chief linguist) of the Dormaa Traditional Council.
Speaking during the presentation, the Akyeamehene highlighted the traditional ruler’s longstanding support for the hospital. He noted that the Dormaahene had earlier donated 200 hospital beds and mattresses, and the new generator represents another significant contribution aimed at ensuring reliable power supply for uninterrupted medical services.
He explained that the chief is well aware of the frequent power outages across the country and recognizes electricity’s vital role in emergency and critical care. The Akyeamehene also recalled that the Dormaahene spearheaded the construction of the hospital’s one-storey emergency unit as part of his broader efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery in the area.
In receiving the generator, the hospital’s General Manager, Rev. Dr. Isaac Appiah Offei, conveyed deep appreciation to the Dormaahene for the thoughtful and timely donation. He pointed out that the facility’s current generator is outdated and prone to frequent breakdowns, which has been causing operational difficulties.
Dr. Offei emphasized that the new 120 KVA silent generator arrived at a critical time and will significantly improve the hospital’s ability to function smoothly during power failures, particularly for emergency cases.
He described the Dormaahene as more than just a traditional leader likening him to a father figure to the hospital due to his consistent contributions to its growth and maintenance. The General Manager promised that the new equipment would be well maintained and used effectively to deliver better healthcare services to the people of Dormaa and neighboring communities.
Hospital management and staff received the donation with great excitement and gratitude, reaffirming their commitment to making the best possible use of the generator in service to the public.
