Ghanaian pilgrim dies whiles performing the Tawaf ritual

A Ghanaian identified Musah Sidi, aged 53 has been reported death whiles performing the Tawaf ritual at the Haram in Mecca. The announcement was made by the Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG).

According to PAOG, the deceased collapsed during the circumambulation of the Kaaba, an essential rite in the Hajj pilgrimage involving walking in a circular motion around the sacred structure, and passed away shortly.

The office has confirmed that the bereaved family has been officially informed whiles arrangements are underway for his body to be prepared for Janaza prayers after Jumu’ah prayers before burial.

“In Islamic tradition, a pilgrim who dies in a state of worship and in Ihram is promised immense spiritual honour in the hereafter,” the statement added.

The Pilgrims Affairs Office extended its condolences to the family, sympathisers and loved ones of the deceased, praying for Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus.
