Government economic policies have boosted financial institutions – Dormaa West DCE

Hon. Stephen Azorba Awuni, the District Chief Executive of Dormaa West, has linked the stronger performance of financial institutions across the country to what he called sound and effective economic stewardship by the NDC administration.

He pointed out that the government’s policies have expanded economic and financial opportunities for both individuals and banks. He highlighted key indicators such as the relative stability of the exchange rate and inflation since President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC took office.

According to the DCE, these improved conditions have also allowed financial institutions to extend credit to customers at comparatively lower interest rates. He made these comments at the 16th Annual General Meeting of Nkrankwanta Area Community Bank PLC.

During the event, he encouraged the bank to explore offering soft loans to small-scale traders in the locality to help grow their businesses and raise living standards.

The DCE praised the bank for its steady commitment, reliable service, and support to customers. He appealed to residents of Nkrankwanta and the surrounding communities where the bank operates to make greater use of its services and conduct their banking with it so that it can expand further.

He added that the bank has been a valuable partner to the Dormaa West District Assembly, especially in difficult times.

For this reason, he urged the public to buy more shares in the institution, noting that broader shareholding would increase the bank’s financial strength and improve its capacity to assist local businesses and community development.
